Why CAIPA Foundation?

CAIPA Foundation, Inc., a not-for-profit organization, receives its donations mainly from physician-members of the Chinese-American IPA (CAIPA). Its aim is to promote community service programs and health awareness to Asian-Americans through education, advocacy and making medical services more accessible.

A Journey Through Through Our History

2018 2018

CAIPA MSO, LLC was formed and functions as a management service organization, providing infrastructure and administrative support to clients within and beyond the Asian-American communities.

 

2008 2008

CAIPA Foundation, Inc. was established by donations from our physician-members. Its aim is to promote community service programs and health awareness to Asian-Americans through education, advocacy and making medical services more accessible.

 

2016 2016

CAIPA Care, LLC received a Certificate of Authority from the NYS Department of Health. It is the only physician-owned Medicaid Accountable Care Organization (ACO) in NYC.

 

1996 1996

CPP gained the NYS Department of Health and Insurance’s consent to restructure as an independent practice association and was renamed the Chinese American Independent Practice Association (CAIPA). Since that time, CAIPA has flourished, with nearly 1,100 clinical practitioners serving over 500,000 Asian-Americans in New York.

 

2013 2013

CAIPA Foundation saw the opportunity to offer assistance to older adults who could benefit physically, mentally and socially from social daycare centers. Thus, the Foundation formed CAIPA Social Daycare Center (SDC).

 

1994 1994

The Chinese Physician Partnership (CPP) was founded by a handful of downtown community physicians. CPP and The Chinese American Medical Society (CAMS) started the Community Service Fund (CSF). The Fund supports patient education, research and community-based projects.
