Connecting Families with the Care They Need

Overcoming Obstacles

The Family Service Center established under the CAIPA Foundation during the Covid-19 pandemic has been a vital support system for the AAPI community. Our social workers assist individuals who are facing economic hardships and the complex healthcare system. Servicing as a lifeline, the center has provided essential aid to AAPI residents.

Our clients include a diverse array of individuals. 80% of them are grappling with major illnesses, such as cancer, stroke, and kidney failure. The Family Service Center also extends its helping hand to the remaining 20% – victims of accidents or crimes who require a safe space to heal and recover.

The Family Service Center’s compassionate social workers extend their services to an average of 40 to 50 new cases every year. These diligent professionals make it a point to connect with individuals they serve at least twice a month, establishing a strong bond of trust and understanding.

Predominantly focusing on AAPI immigrants, the Family Service Center acts as a critical link between patients and resources. Individuals are referred to the center by family doctors, members of the CAIPA Ambassador Program, or social workers once their injuries or health conditions stabilize. Our Mandarin and Cantonese-speaking social workers play a vital role in breaking down language barriers, facilitating access to essential welfare programs, providing psychological counseling, and guiding clients in making thoughtful end-of-life arrangements.

The CAIPA Foundation Family Service Center fosters a caring and inclusive environment, where every individual is valued and supported. Through our work, we empower communities and enrich lives through our unwavering commitment to service and compassion.
